| John Ira Sturkie, second son of Benjamin J. Sturkie, came by wagon with his parents and older brother Lloyd Olen to Texas in the 1860's. He worked as a ranch hand and cowboy in West Texas where he met and eloped with Mary Eliza Cook. | |
