Research: One source reports there were a total of four sisters and possibly another brother.

Research: This Sturkie family information fu rnished by Donna Chapman of Corpus Christi, Texas; Loralei Sturkie of Boise, Idaho; and Wilson O. Shealy of Swansea, SC. Some other researchers of the Sturkie family believe there were a number of additional cildren for John C. Sturkie and his wife Martha Rickenbacker. In addition to Andrew A., Richard Benhamin, and Mark Gabriel, there were possibly: Martha (1850 Lexington census), Lizzie, Katherine and Lila.

Research: Researchers for the sturkie family indicate that John C. Sturkie is burried at Bull Swamp Baptist Church. I did not find his grave there, but did find the grave of David Sturkie born about 1793.16

John Caspar married Martha Ann Rickenbaker, in South Carolina. Born in 1781.

They had the following children:

50. David Sterchi. Born in 1793. David died in 1878; he was 85. Buried in Bull Swamp, Lexington, SC.

"On the 1820 census for orangeburgh district, we find a daniel sturkey aged 45+ (born 1775 or before) and a David sturkey aged 26-45.could Daniel and David be sons of Ulrich born 1754, as well as John C. and Henry? all four apear on the 1820 census on page 209A, in the following order: William and Daniel, then Thomas Wylds, then David and John, and finally Christian Wolfe. So they llived close to each other.17
