Deed of Gift of two Negro Slaves named Four and Jude
Be it remembered that we Benjamin Jefcoat Snr. and Mary Jefcoat for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which we have and bear towards our four sons, Benjamin Jefcoat, Jnr., Claiborn J. Jefcoat, Uriah Jefcoat and Westly Jefcoat, do give unto our above aforementioned sons, One negro man named Four and one woman named Jude, with her increases, to the said Benjamin Jefcoat, Jr., Claiborn J. Jeffcoat, Uriah Jefcoat, and Westly Jeffcoat and their heirs after our decease, should either of the above named die, his share is to go to the rest of the survivors, provided the deceased has no heirs. - In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hand to and affixed our seals, this 16th February, 1850 - Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Joshua Williamson, Thomas Williamson

Conveyance of 456 Acres of Land
The State of South Carolina
Known all men by these Presents, That I Benjamin Jefcoat of Lexington District and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the natural love and affection I have and _____________ towards my son Daniel J. Jefcoat of the same State and District have given, granted and confirmed, and by these presents do give grant and confirm unto the said Daniel J. Jeffcoat all that plantation of tract of land containing four hundred and fifty six acres, it being one half of a tract of land situate on the head of Glazier Branch waters of North Edisto River, on the Wagon Road in Lexington District, and hath such marks, butting and boundings as are represented in a Plat hereunto annexed together with all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said, Daniel J. Jeffcoat to him and his heirs forever. Excepts the timber which I reserve for myself and to the rest of my male children, And I do hereby bind myself and each of my heirs, executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the premise before mentioned, unto the said Daniel J. Jefcoat to him and his heirs, against myself and my heirs and against every other person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof. In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty third day of January in the year of out Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Forty nine, and in the Seventy third year of the Sovereignty of the United States of America
