Mrs. Martha Sturkie Rish, 81, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Self Memorial Hospital after several years of declining health.
She was born near Gaston in Lexington County, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Z. Sturkie of Gaston. Mrs. Rish lived in Greenwood since 1910 coming hear from Langley. She was a member of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. L. M. Wingard of Swansea; two sons, Adolphus Rich of Pelion and Vernon Rish of Greenwood; one sister Mrs. J. A. Miller of Batesburg; one half-brother, B. M. Sturkie of Columbia; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday from Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Florence Baptist Church Cemetery near Pelion.

JAMES P. RISH OF LANGLEY DIES
Langley: March 26,---James P. Rish, 65, of Langley died at an Augusta, Ga., infirmary today.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Martha Rish; one daughter, Mrs. L. M. Wingard of Everette, Ga; two sons, Adolphus, Pelion and Veron, Greenwood; one sister, Mrs. Willie Schumpert, Pelion; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at Florence Baptist Church near Pelion at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Herman A. Crawford and the Rev. Luther Shealy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
He had been a resident of the valley for about 15 years and was a member of the Pelion Baptist church.
