The WEATHERLY family belonged to the Saint Helena Parish in the late 1700's. Captain Isaac WEATHERLY was captured at Charleston Harbor during the Revolutionary War by the British. His wife's name was STATIRA (possible surname of SANFORD ) and she died of yellow fever in 1802, Charleston, St. Philip's Parish. William WEATHERLY (Isaac's father) married Sarah COLE . Thomas WEATHERLY received a land grant in 1744 and married a WAIGHT .

Looking for anyone who is researching the Weatherly Family of the Charleston Area of South Carolina. The first known Weatherly is Thomas who had a land grant on St. John's Island, S. C. in 1704. He married Sarah Waight. One of his grandsons was Isaac Weatherly who married Statira ?. Statira died in 1805 in Charleston of yellow fever. Any information on this family would be appreciated

Isaac Weatherly of St. Helena Island, plant, to George Mathews of Charles Town, merchant, for 100 pounds SC money, 200 acres on John Island, Colleton County adj. Robert Gibbs, Mathews, Solomon Freer, upon a creek branching out of Keywaw River adj. land of the estate of Elizabeth Cockran, which land Isaac Weatherly becme entitled thereto as heir at law to his father William Weatherly who died intestate. Isaac Weaatherly. Wit: Benjamin Mathews, Daniel Holmes. Proved in Charles Town District by the oath of Benjamin Mathews before Fenwich Bull, J. P. 26 Dec 1774. Recorded 2 Jan 1775.
