I. M. HALLMAN OF COLUMBIA DIES

I. M. Hallman, 72, of 203 South Walker, Columbia, died yesterday at 2 o'clock at his home. he had been a resident of Columbia for the past 25 years and was formerly of Gilbert where he was a member of the Pond Branch Methodist Church. he was a carpenter and cabinet maker.

His first wife was Mrs. Beadie Anne Taylor hallman who died in 1923. His second wife was Mr. G. Sturkie Hallman.

He is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Pearl Cunningham of West Columbia, Mrs. Alma Taylor and Mrs. Mabel Roof, both of Gilbert, Mrs. Dorothy Blackwell of Columbia, Miss Louise Hallman and Miss Shirley Ann Hallman both of Columbia; four sons, Richard Hallman, Dewey M. Hallman, Kline O'Neal Hallman, and Charles D. Hallman, all of Columbia; and ten grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at the Thompson Funeral Home.

I. M. HALLMAN'S FUNERAL TODAY

Funeral services for I. M. Hallman, 72, of 203 S. Walker Street, will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon from the Pond Branch Methodist Church near Gilbert, conducted by the Rev. William L. Faircloth, the Rev. M. E. Derrick and the Rev. Fred Reese. Interment will be in the church yard.

Mr. Hallman died Wednesday afternoon at his home.

Formerly of Gilbert, Mr. Hallman had lived in Columbia for 25 years. He was a carpenter and cabinet maker. He was a member of Pond Branch Methodist Church.

Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Pearl Cunningham of West Columbia, Mrs Alma Taylor and Mrs. Mabel Roof, both of Gilbert, Mrs. Dorothy Blackwell, Miss Hilda Louise Hallman and Miss Shirley Ann Hallman of Columbia; four sons, Richard Hallman, Dewey M. Hallman, Kline O'Neal Hallman and Charles D. Hallman, all of Columbia; and ten grandchildren.

Active pallbearers will be Jimmie Hallman, Horace Hallman, Irvin Hallman, Robert Smith, Neeley Miller and Rudolph Miller.

Honorary pallbearers will be Edwin H. Cooper, Frank Cooper, Dr. J. S. Dillard, Milledge T. Pitts, L. E. Black, Dr. Fred V. Poag, Members of the board of stewards of Wesley Memorial Methodist Church and Pond Branch Methodist Chruch.

The funeral party will leave the home at 2.45.

Mrs. Gurnie Bell Sturkie Hallman, 66 of 203 S. Walker Street, died Wednesday in Richland Memorial Hospital.

Born in Gaston, she was a daughter of the late Z. A. W. and Josephine Hayden Sturkie. She was a member of Rosewood Baptist church and the widow of Isaiah M. Hallman.

Surviving are two daughters, Miss Hilda Louise Hallman and Mrs. Shirley H. Foy of Columbia; three sons, Dewey M., Kline O. and Charles D. Hallman of Columbia; three step-daughters, Mrs. Maybelle Roof of Gilbert, Mrs. Alma Taylor of West Columbia and Mrs. Dorothy Blackwell of Columbia; a stepson, Richard I. Hallman of Columbia and a sister, Mrs. Ruby Lee Mills of Columbia

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Rosewood Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. R. B. Eklund and the Rev. W. L. Faircloth. Burial will be in Pond Branch United Methodist Church cemetery in Gilbert.

Pallbearers will be Floyd Amick, Ernest Miles, Norton Sturkie, Lagree Sturkie, Harold Sturkie and Bill Whitener.

Dunbar Funeral Home is in charge.
