MRS. POUND DIES AFTER ILLNESS OF SIX WEEKS
Mrs. Susan J. Pound, 81, of 806 Florence Street, Columbia, died at 4:30 Sunday morning after an illness of the past six weeks.
She was the widow of Willie D. Pound who died in 1934.
Formerly of Gaston, Mrs. Pound was a member of the Sandy Run Baptist church at Gaston and had lived in Columbia for the past 17 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. W. B. Blanks and Mrs. L. A. Goodwin both of Columbia; one sun, Claude W. Pound of Gaston; Two sisters, Mrs. Martha Rish of Greenwood and Mrs. Arthur Miller of Batesburg; Two Half Sisters, Mrs. L. M. Hallman Of Columbia and Mrs. Ruby Mills of Gaston; two half brothers, Z. A. Sturkie of Gaston and B. M. Sturkie of Columbia; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 Wednesday afternoon from the Sandy Run Baptist Church of Gaston.
