Daniel Jefcoat, -b.. ca. -d. 04-12-1878, the last son born to Samuel. His last Will and testament follows. He signed his name Daniel Jefcoat, Sr. to distinguish himself from his nephews who bore the name of Daniel.)

Will and Testament
Lexington County Probate Court

Last will and Testament of Daniel Jefcoat In the Names of God, amen, I Daniel Jefcoat, Sr. of the County of Lexington in the State of South Carolina, Farmer, being in ill health and of sound mind and memory, do make this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time here to forth made.

And as to my worldly estate and all the property, real, personal, or mixed of which I shall die, seized and possessed, or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease, I devise, bequeth and dispose therof in the manner following to wit:

First, my will is that all my just debts and funeral expenses be apaid out of my estate by my Executor, hereafter named, as soon after my decease, as shall by him be found convenient.

Second, I give and bequeath the heirs of my deceased son: David O. Jefcoat the sum of one dollar to be equally divided amongst them.

Third, I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Ferrabee Jeffcoat, all the residue of my estate, real, personal and mixed of which I shall die seized and possessed, or to which I shall be entitled at my decease to have tnad to hold the same to her for and during the term of her natural life, and after the decease of my said wife the residue of my estate shall be equally divided amongst my three children--Nathan V. Jefcoat, Martha A. Williamson formerly Martha A. Jefcoat and Mary E. Harley formerly Mary E. Jefcoat, share and share alike.

And lastly, I do nominate an appoint my friend Dr. Joseph H. Morgan to be executer of this my last will and testament.

In testimony whereof, I the said Daniel Jefcoat, Sr., have to this my last will and testament, subsribed my name and affixed my Seal this the Second day of April in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and severnty-nine and in the one Hundredth and third year of the Indepndence of the United States of America.
