Census notes for Elizabeth “Lizzie” McGILLIVRAY
“Elizabeth had lived many years near General Woodward. He purchased the land of her and her son which was located in Macon County near present day Tuskegee. She was married to Captain Sam Isaacs, a Coosada Chief of some note. Owen, using Pickett wrote that Isaacs was born around 1765.”
It is disappointing how bare the records are concerning Alexander’s three children. Very little is reported and we do not know the ultimate fate of the two daughters…”
“Owen also reported that Captain Isaacs, his nephew, and three warriors were killed by the Red Sticks in June 1813. However, this is apparently in error as “Nomatlee Emantla, or Captain Isaacs, of Cousondee” signed the peace treaty of Fort Jackson on 9 August 1814.”
