Jacob Jeffcoat born ca 1785-1795 ws granted 144 acres of land in 1816 on Big Pond Branch bordering Elijah Jeffcoat. There was one male child in his household early census.84

David Owens Jeffcoat, the biological son of Daniel, Jacob’s young brother was brought up by Jacob and Rachael. Evidently Jacob was the only father David knew. He named a son for Jacob, but there were no Daniels in his family.
