“The large pecan orchard a miles east of Comanche stands as a living monument to Uncle Tom and Aunt Minnie. It is located on the Tuggle homestead. Uncle Tom planted the nuts, grew the seedlings, budded and grafted the saplings. He was always interested in the improved varieties of pecans. He replaced his trees with proved varieties as thye became available.”226
