Family Story told by Kathleen Sturkie and confirmed in 2003 by cousin Edith Luker and later by her brother, L. O. Sturkie. Kathleen remembers going with her father WD Sturkie to the home of Will Luker and Jullia Williams Luker. (This must have been in about 1926 since Kathleen thinks she was about 5 or 6 years old at the time.) My mother observed that the bedroom wall was riddled with bullet holes. Apparently, Will came home to find Julia in bed with his brother Mack and took aim at them both. Must have been a very poor shot since they both survived. Mack moved to Montana and never married. Will is buried in California. Interesting to note that when I visited the Luker cemetery in Comanche County in 2003, Julia was buried adjacent to Mack Luker.
